The WestJet Group appointed Michael (Mike) Scott executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Scott’s long-established career with StandardAero, included more than 13 years as chief financial officer and treasurer. Previously, he held a variety of senior level roles across the organization. A native of Winnipeg, Scott has his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation and is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA) and recently served on the board for the Manitoba Aerospace Association. Jenn Bue who has been serving as interim CFO of the WestJet Group for the last five months will now transition to the role of senior vice-president, finance and deputy chief financial officer reporting directly to Scott.
Freight booking and fleet management platform SmartHop has appointed Jay Hinson as general manager of fintech. Before joining SmartHop, Hinson was senior director of product strategy and business development at Stash, a personal finance app. His other fintech-related experience includes serving as a manager at KPMG and an IT consultant for Wipro Technologies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in management and finance from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Orbis Corporation has appointed Thomas Estock as director of sustainability. Estock joins Orbis with three decades of experience in industrial, environmental, health, safety and sustainability management. Estock will be responsible for the company’s environmental, social and governance programs and strategies.
Motion Industries, Inc. has promted Joe Limbaugh to executive vice-president – chief operations officer, and James Howe to executive vice-president – chief commercial officer/chief technology officer. This year, Limbaugh celebrates 40 years with Motion. In 2021, he was promoted to executive vice-president. Howe recently celebrated 30 years with Motion and was promoted to executive vice-president in 2021 with responsibility for e-commerce, strategic pricing, sales excellence and corporate accounts. He will continue to lead in these areas with the added responsibility of human resources.
