Minister of transport Pablo Rodriguez announced new appointments and re-appointments in the transportation sector. Elizabeth Catherine Barker of Ottawa was reappointed as vice-chairperson of the Canadian Transportation Agency for a five-year term. Chief Marilyn May Slett of the Heiltsuk Nation in Bella Bella, British Columbia, was appointed as a member of the Pacific Pilotage Authority for a four-year term. Denis Déraps of Natashquan, Quebec, was reappointed as the Wharfinger of Natashquan for a three-year term.
FourKites has added three new senior vice-presidents. Phil Weir, senior vice-president, global strategic customers, will head FourKites’ global Customer Growth organization. Weir is an experienced customer advocate with more than 25 years of supply chain and enterprise application experience. He previously led the North American sales team for Coupa’s supply chain business, including the turnaround of its LLamasoft acquisition, as well as leadership roles with SAP, EY and two start-ups that were sold to Infor and Kibo Commerce.
Chris Basson, senior vice-president, professional services, will head up services and carrier operations. Basson has more than 25 years of experience, with a focus on positioning and driving the successful adoption of digital technologies. His previous roles include leading Korn Ferry’s North America Client Success business, and a long tenure leading the North America Strategic Programs business for SAP services.
Dan Abramson, senior vice-president, Americas market expansion, will lead customer growth in the Americas. Abramson was most recently the senior executive director and GM at SAS, where he led one of the largest revenue and people organizations focused on the manufacturing, transportation, entertainment and B2B software and services industries.
DP World has appointed Terry Donohoe as vice-president of freight forwarding for the Americas. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Donohoe joins DP World from the Toll Group’s Global Forwarding division, where he last served as vice-president of operations for North America. He also worked at Agility, Schenker, GeoLogistics and BAX Global. Donohoe holds a diploma in International Leadership, and has completed the Disruptive Strategy program and Strategy Execution program from Harvard Business School. He will be based at DP World’s regional headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
