OTTAWA, Ont. — Linda Gauthier has announced she is resigning from the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) in June.
Gauthier has been with the CTHRC since 1995 and has served as its executive director since 2002. The organization has solicited the help of Pragmatic HR Solutions in Dartmouth, N.S. to help it find a replacement.
“I have been thrilled to work with so many people who have demonstrated an eagerness and a commitment to addressing the trucking industry’s HR challenges,” Gauthier said. “Collectively, we have made a difference, and I am particularly proud that the Council’s leadership has been recognized internationally – as demonstrated through our recent involvement in the European Union’s ProfDVR project.”
“Linda’s leadership and dedication has been a tremendous asset to Canada’s trucking industry,” added CTHRC chair Kevin Riley. “In many ways, her name has become synonymous with the work of the Council. She will truly be missed.”
Gauthier won the National Transportation Week Award of Achievement in 2003 and has been a vital part of many of the CTHRC’s major projects, including establishing essential skills profiles for a variety of occupations in the trucking industry and developing the Closing the Gap initiative that brought together stakeholders from government and industry.
