Universal Robots (UR) – North America has appointed Chris Claringbold as area sales manager – Canada. Based just north of Toronto, he will continue the development of Universal Robots’ high-growth sales and distribution business in Canada, develop regional strategic large accounts, and initiate the hiring of Canadian-based technical staff. Claringbold will report directly to Stu Shepherd, Area Sales Manager – Americas. He brings over 35 years of robotic automation experience to Universal Robots. Before joining Universal Robots, Claringbold was president and CEO, KUKA Robotics Canada as well as president and COO at Prodomax Automation, one of the largest system integrators and automation companies in Canada. He also has eight years of automotive experience while working for Magna International.
Hussein Mecklai has joined Impinj, Inc. as executive vice-president of engineering. He will lead Impinj’s entire engineering organization. Mecklai has over 20 years’ experience, most recently as vice-president and general manager, product architecture group at Intel, where he was responsible for defining the product architecture of 90 per cent of Intel’s products. Prior to that, he served in senior engineering and leadership roles at Infineon Technologies, LSI Group (formerly Agere Systems), and Lucent Technologies. Mecklai received the Rodney Chipp SWE National Award for Diversity for his commitment to recruiting, retaining, and progressing women in technical roles, including raising female gender representation in Intel’s platform engineering group. He earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, and completed the Intel Leadership Development Program at Stanford University.
GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc. has named Renee Krug as its new CEO and member of the company’s board of directors. Bob Farrell, GlobalTranz’s current CEO, was named executive chairman. Lara Stell has been promoted to CFO. Krug joined GlobalTranz as CFO in October of 2014. Previously, she was was CFO of Clear Channel Outdoor and VP of finance at Swift Transportation. Earlier in her career, she held a variety of leadership roles at
Honeywell in technology, operations, sales and Six Sigma process improvement. Stell joined GlobalTranz as VP of finance in October of 2014. Stell brings to GlobalTranz a diverse background in accounting, finance, planning and operations. Prior to GlobalTranz, she worked with Krug at Swift Transportation and Clear Channel Outdoor. Earlier in her career she was an audit professional at PwC.
