CALGARY, Alberta—CP has cut the travel time for two intermodal routes.
After a redesign of the company’s transcontinental network, the travel time between Toronto and Vancouver, a 4,185km (2,600 mile) trip, has been shortened by a full day.
Two days have been cut from the 3,540km (2,200 mile) trip between Vancouver and Chicago.
“With lower dwell times in our terminals, more efficient transit times, and optimized asset utilization, we can provide this improved service,” said CP executive vice-president and chief marketing officer Jane O’Hagan.
“As part of the global supply chain we want to help our customers be more competitive in the markets they serve.”
