MODEX 2012: Intelligrated and SDI Group launch Brazilian operation

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Intelligrated, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and SDI Group USA, based in Pacoima, California are now operating a jointly-run project in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

The two companies have combined sales, engineering, project management, customer service, and parts operations into one facility, designed to provide in-country material handling solutions.

The new facility is located in Jundiai, mid-way between the city of San Paulo and Campinas. Marcelo Bueno, of SDI Group Brazil, is the manager.

Although Intelligrated is entering the Brazilian market for the first time, SDI Group has had projects in Brazil for the past five years. Additionally, it has been operating in South America since 1992. Intelligrated and SDI Group have a history of co-operation on a number of projects.

“We see a void in the local marketplace for companies providing advanced sortation and palletizing systems, and we aim to fill that void,” said Intelligrated executive vice-president, Stephen Ackerman.
