Canadian carrier, logistics and warehousing company Wellington Group of Companies announced the acquisition of Contract Express, welcoming the company’s employees to the team.
A multi-modal transportation solutions business based in Guelph, Ont., Contract Express offers a wide range of customers, including the automotive, machinery, equipment manufacturers, building material and furniture industries.
“Contract Express has established its own DNA. It is our intent as the parent company of Contract Express to leave that DNA in place and allow the business and people to have its very own unique identity while providing buying power and support to the group,” Wellington noted on its website. “It’s the unique identity within our businesses which helps make us who we are, i.e. a well-diversified business who believe our people are our brand and our people are why we are successful.
“A special thank you to both Sean O’Brien and Jason O’Neil for all of your dedication throughout this process. You both have built a special company which has continued to develop since 1985 and we look forward to continuing to work with you both and build off of the excellent foundation which has already been established.”
