U.S.-based third-party logistics provider Kenco has acquired Drexel Industries’ 3PL business, marking a significant expansion of its Canadian operations.
The deal includes Drexel’s four warehouses in London, Ont., along with 100 associates who will transition to Kenco. The facilities serve as multi-client distribution centres situated equidistant from Toronto, Detroit and Buffalo, N.Y., offering a strategic location for flexible logistics operations.
“As Kenco continues to grow, we’ve looked for opportunities to better serve our existing customers across Canada,” said Denis Reilly, president and CEO at Kenco. “With Drexel Industries joining the Kenco family, customers of both brands will gain access to a broader network of warehouses and logistics services.”
The acquisition also brings new capabilities to Kenco, including co-packing and co-filler services, which will complement its existing offerings.
Drexel Industries, a family-owned business, has provided warehousing, fulfillment, Amazon FBA prep, brokerage services and reverse logistics for more than a decade.
“Culturally and operationally, Kenco is a perfect fit with our 3PL business,” said Jason Salmon, CEO of Drexel Industries. “Our teams share the same vision: to lift the complexities of logistics management off our customers, so they can focus on core competencies.”
