LOGISTEC has acquired Travero’s Logistics Park Dubuque (LPD), a multi-purpose marine terminal in East Dubuque, Ill., expanding the company’s inland waterways network across the U.S. Midwest and Gulf Coast.
The North American marine terminal and logistics services provider based in Montreal said the 100-acre terminal strengthens its connectivity along the Upper Mississippi River and provides additional routing options for agriculture, manufacturing and energy supply chains.
“With the addition of LPD to the LOGISTEC network, we are expanding our reach into America’s industrial and agricultural heartland and the U.S. inland waterways,” said Sean Pierce, CEO of LOGISTEC. “This terminal strengthens our ability to serve customers in the Midwest with efficiency and access to emerging markets. LPD’s solid operational foundation and well-established customer base, combined with our expertise and scale, positions us to unlock new opportunities to drive long term value.”
Logistics Park Dubuque is a multimodal facility specializing in the handling, storage and loading of bulk and breakbulk commodities between barge, rail and truck. The site has direct rail access via CN Rail and barge access to the Upper Mississippi River.
The terminal serves manufacturers in the agriculture, steel, manufacturing and energy sectors.
Travero president Lisha Coffey said the sale aligns the facility with an operator focused on logistics terminals.
“LPD has a strong track record and a dedicated team, and we are proud of the role the facility has played in supporting our customers, regional supply chains and the broader community,” she said. “As Travero continues to focus on its core businesses, this transaction aligns LPD with an owner whose expertise is operating and growing logistics terminals. LOGISTEC is well positioned to build on LPD’s momentum and support its long-term growth.”
The announcement follows LOGISTEC’s recent acquisition agreement with IPA Terminal in Altamira, Mexico.
