ACI Air Cargo and Atlantis Transportation Services celebrate 50th anniversary

ACI Air Cargo and Atlantis Transportation Services have reached a milestone, celebrating 50 years of providing air cargo logistics across Canada and the United States.

Founded in 1974, Atlantis Transportation Services introduced Canada’s first airport-to-airport road feeder service, connecting Canadian and U.S. hubs with efficient ground transportation. ACI Air Cargo soon followed, establishing itself at major airports including Toronto Pearson, Montréal-Trudeau and Vancouver International. Today, the two companies employ more than 150 people and handle a variety of cargo, including live animals, perishables and hazardous goods.

“ACI Air Cargo and Atlantis Transportation Services have evolved alongside Canada’s air cargo industry, constantly investing in infrastructure, technology and specialized services,” said Sylvain Lacelle, vice-president of sales and operations at ACI Air Cargo. “We have successfully combined our strong local roots with a global perspective, expanding service offerings while maintaining essential values of integrity and client-centred solutions.”

In recent years, the companies have expanded their capabilities with U.S. Department of Transportation approval to extend their road feeder service network and a partnership with Alliance Ground International, which combines cargo handling with ramp services for both passenger and freighter operations.

As they look to the future, ACI Air Cargo and Atlantis Transportation Services plan to invest in new technologies and partnerships to deliver smart, efficient logistics solutions.
