New digital tool helps streamline imports

FedEx has introduced a new digital tool designed to simplify the import process by improving collaboration between shippers and importers.

The Collaborative Shipping Tool allows importers to share the Airway Bill (AWB) creation process with shippers, enabling them to confirm shipment details and schedule pickups based on readiness. The company says this will improve shipment accuracy, enhance visibility and reduce delays.

“As global supply chains grow increasingly complex, businesses must adopt smarter logistics solutions to remain competitive,” said Salil Chari, senior vice-president of marketing and customer experience at FedEx Asia Pacific.

The tool is available to FedEx import customers in Canada, the U.S., Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and Africa.

FedEx says the tool complements its existing digital solutions, such as iClear, which helps manage the import process more efficiently.
