PHILADELPHIA, Pa.–The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) is holding its Connections Annual Conference in San Diego, CA, from April 22 to April 25, 2014, featuring a session entitled “Rail Insurance – Current Trends and Historical Perspectives in Light of Recent Events” presented by Cate Whiddon, Vice President, Railroad, ACE Westchester.
Whiddon will focus her talk on evaluating the risk of transporting crude oil by rail.
Commenting on the opportunity, Whiddon said, “I’m pleased to be able to participate in this session and speak about ACE’s new railroad division, as well as the many benefits of transporting crude oil by rail, the risks to consider, and safety protocols. The benefits of rail transport are many, but also include the importance of maintaining product integrity, the ability to deliver desired volumes of the product, and the benefits of a strong, established infrastructure.”
ACE formed the Railroad Underwriting Unit in June of 2013 to deliver a full range of insurance and risk management liability coverage, specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the railroad transportation industry, said the company.
