Government of Canada awards engineering contract for St. Lawrence bridge project

OTTAWA, Ont.–The Government of Canada has awarded a $15,218,401.43 (taxes included) contract to ARUP Canada Inc. for engineering and coordination services for the new bridge for the St. Lawrence project.
The work will entail professional engineering services related to bridge, highway and traffic engineering, environmental protection, urban and corridor integration, architectural quality, preparing procurement documentation and general assistance in the coordination and management of other technical engineering projects and components that must be developed for the newly-accelerated bridge for the St. Lawrence project.
With an estimated $20 billion in international trade crossing the Champlain Bridge annually, this corridor is a significant part of the regional economy and Canada’s economy as a whole.
