Aerospan.com extends portfolio to expand e-marketplace services

SITA e-marketplace Aerospan now offers a single source for inventory planning, parts acquisition, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) tracking and logistics services.

“We have long understood that Aerospan would need to lead the development of a wide-range of integrated services for our customers to truly benefit from the promise of e-business and help them to improve their profitability. Our own developments have been bolstered through business partnerships with several leading companies that have substantially expanded the scope of services Aerospan can offer. By bringing various elements together in a cooperative, connected fashion and integrating the technology aspects, Aerospan is able to offer a complete supply-chain solution that cuts costs and increases process efficiencies. Through the additional benefit of the global reach of SITA we can provide global solutions with local implementation and integration,” said Duncan Alexander, CEO, Aerospan.

Aerospan’s global customer base of more than 72 airlines and 102 suppliers are already actively using its Aerospares e-marketplace services to buy and sell aviation parts.

Also available are Aerosearch, which helps users in Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations to find particularly rare or scarce parts wherever they are worldwide, Aeroplan , which enables enterprise-wide asset management to improve the planning and control of the supply, demand and deployment of aircraft components, and AeroMROtracker – a management information tool that streamlines the process by tracking spare parts through the MRO cycle together with a directory of the repair capabilities of MRO organisations.

“We are live, operational and independent and focused on ensuring we address the needs of the whole community. We aim to drive developments and offer real e-business solutions so that our customers may take immediate advantage of the opportunities available from the latest technologies. In the future, Aerospan will continue to add more services such as financial settlement to underwrite and facilitate the speedy settlement of financial transactions and skills trading to secure the services of certified personnel involved in the operation and maintenance of an aircraft. Creating the extended enterprise and the more efficient integration of customers and suppliers is vital,” said Alexander.
