European aircraft manufacturer Airbus says it has signed an agreement with Dubai-based Emirates airlines to set up a joint venture specializing in aviation services, such as airline consultancy and trading in used aircraft.
Airbus and Emirates will each own 50 percent of the new company, which will offer consultation in matters such as fleet, route and business planning, and brokering services for used aircraft and spares.
The company is to be set up in the first half of 2002 and will be based in Dubai.
