British Airways World Cargo says that continued increases in world fuel prices have led the carrier to implement a fuel surcharge. This follows the recent publication of the company’s fuel surcharge index, designed to provide transparent operations with its customers. Beginning April 22, BA will charge an extra USD 4.3 cents per kilo, or GBP0.03/kg.
“While we delayed the introduction of a surcharge to review the longer term price trend, current and forecast fuel prices mean that we now need to apply a fuel surcharge,” said Keith Packer, senior vice president of global sales and marketing.
