Faster Montreal, Toronto transit for DCL

by Canadian Shipper

Non-vessel operating common carrier Direct Container Line (DCL) has restructured its services from Montreal and Toronto in order to improve transit times for many of its services by up to 15 days.

Improvements on transit times will vary by destination. DCL attributes the changes to new inland service schedules from Montreal and Toronto into Miami and New York.

The new inland service to Miami will further improve transit times on many of its services to the Caribbean. Transit times are expected to improve by eight to 15 days for the company’s direct consolidation services to Castries on St Lucia, Port of Spain in Trinidad, San Juan in Puerto Rico, Charlotte Amalie on St Thomas, and many of the other 20 cities in the region where DCL offers service.

The new schedule from these cities will also affect the company’s services from New York across the Atlantic, with transit times decreasing by anywhere from one to eight days on services to Alexandria, Antwerp, Barcelona, Bremen, London, Durban and selected other cities.
