P&O Nedlloyd upgrades Amazon services

by Canadian Shipper

P&O Nedlloyd will upgrade its existing feeder services from Panama to Manaus (Brazil) to a weekly frequency from this month onwards, reports Schednet.com.

The new Amazon feeder service, which will connect in Panama to weekly mainline arrivals from Asia, consists of four vessels, aimed at meeting customer demand in Asia, as well as upgrading the connection from the USA to the Amazon Region.

By transiting the Panama Canal every other sailing, the service will speed up connections via Callao, the Port of Manzanillo (Panama), and Cartagena.

The new service rotation will go from Callao and continue to Guayaquil, Buenaventura , Panama, Cartagena, Manaus, Belem, Port of Spain, Cartagena and Panama. Then back via Cartagena, Manaus, Belem, Port of Spain, Cartagena, Panama and finally Buenaventura and Callao.

This development follows the recent upgrade of P&O Nedlloyd’s other Amazon service, through which it offers relay-connections from Southeast Asia and Europe to Manaus via Santos every two weeks.
