PBB distribution centre to host Technology Tour
Global logistics management provider PBB Global Logistics will be hosting an Innovation Insights Technology Visit at its Mississauga facility (7615 Bath Road in Mississauga) on September 6, 2001.
The one-day seminar will give participants a first-hand view of e-logistics applications in action. The event will feature an interactive presentation on best practices, a networking session and a tour of PBB’s Mississauga warehouse and logistics facility.
Innovation Insights is a best-practises idea exchange program sponsored by the National Research Council and Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters that has been helping Canadian businesses achieve world-class standards since 1997.
"This one-of-a-kind program literally opens doors to companies by letting them see best practices in action," the company says.
During each seminar, host companies are able to explain and demonstrate how they have achieved excellence in areas of their core business activities. This year’s program is made up of one-day visits to 70 leading-edge companies across Canada.
PBB will be taking the opportunity to showcase their latest on-line ordering and inventory management application – e-Fulfillment solutions. A part of the e-globallogistics.com range of on-line tools, e-Fulfillment uses the Web to improve efficiencies within the supply chain. The system increases order accuracy by cutting down on data entry, labor costs and product handling. PBB’s e-Fulfillment also allows for real-time data and inventory tracking, fewer back orders and shortages, and provides up-to-date management reports. Orders are filled much faster which leads to improved customer satisfaction. This new system benefits a wide variety of on-line businesses and traditional “brick and mortar” companies.
