Platinum Equity LLC is merging two of its companies in the logistics information business to form Data2Logistics.
Activities to merge the operations of Wescara Freight Technologies, which Platinum Equity acquired in October, and the Logistics Group of CorPay Solutions, acquired in April, are underway. Data2Logistics will be headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla., with processing centers in six states throughout the United States.
"We are extremely excited about this merger. The two companies bring complementary strengths to each other, and this will enable the combined business to grow and become a unique market leader in the logistics information and freight payment industry," said David Alfonso, senior vice president of portfolio operations for Platinum Equity. "The new company’s expertise and understanding of the transportation industry is unsurpassed in the marketplace."
Data2Logistics provides freight payment processing, auditing services and related logistics information services to more than 1,000 customers, many in the Fortune 1,000. "It is impressive to note that the new company audits more than 120 million freight bills and processes payments of more than $10 billion annually, which makes it the industry’s largest payment service provider," Alfonso said.
Data2Logistics offers Web-based, proprietary audit and payment software, TransPORT, which will be implemented throughout the combined organization, Ryan said. "We will continue to invest in technology to provide our customers the tools and information technology they need to better manage their transportation and logistics costs to increase their profitability."
