CP Vaughan terminal experiences delays due to weather and demand for cranes

TORONTO, Ont.–According to a CIFFA bulletin Thursday, delays were reported for drayage providers at CP’s Vaughan terminal.

Sometimes drivers waited up to 7 hours to pick up a container. On Tuesday the line-ups were down Highway 50, causing safety concerns for all drivers, the bulletin reported.

According to CIFFA, many drivers were even refusing to even go to CP Vaughn to pick up loads.

A CP spokesperson confirmed that Canadian Pacific’s Vaughan terminal experienced higher than normal dwell time over the last week “due to weather and increased international demand for the cranes at the facility.”

“We responded by increasing our crews so that we could respond to our customers’ needs, which has resulted in significantly improved dwell times,” said CP Public Affairs spokesperson Salem Woodrow.
