Savi Technology and Microlise partner to provide real-time visibility

Savi Technology, the Silicon Valley-based provider of real-time solutions to manage and secure supply chain assets,and Microlise, a United Kingdom-based information technology provider and systems integrator for supply chains, announced at the Materials Handling and Logistics North America 2002 Show and Conference that they have formed a partnership that initially provides inter-linked hardware and software solutions to a major Europe-based retailer for real-time visibility and security of conveyances within their mutual customer’s own logistics network.
Details of the partnership’s groundbreaking contract with the retailer is anticipated to be announced in detail this month, and leverages the technology strengths of both Savi and Microlise to manage conveyances that move consumer products between distribution points and retail outlets.
Savi Technology brings to the partnership a history of providing automated identification and collection technologies and web-based supply chain asset management software, including a track record of helping to build and operate the world’s largest wireless freight tracking system for the U.S. Department of Defense, and provides real-time asset management solutions for a wide range of commercial and public enterprises, including CHEP International, Singapore Airlines and the U.S. Postal Service.
Microlise brings complementary software and automated tracking technologies as well as expertise in the fast-moving consumer goods, retail and pharmaceutical market sectors, geographic focus throughout Europe and
experience with Blue Chip clients such as Kelloggs, GlaxoSmithKline and Woolworths.
