THE LEADING EDGE: Manugistics unveils new logistics procurement solution

Manugistics Group, Inc. has unveiled a new, licensable version of the NetWORKS Transport Request For Quotation (RFQ) solution.

The new solution addresses additional business needs by providing clients the ability to own and manage the RFQ process and adds further flexibility to the currently-available hosted offering, says Manugistics.

RFQ is designed to address such industry challenges as freight capacity, as well as the ever-changing regulations and cost components of the industry. The new RFQ solution will be commercially available in early 2005.

The currently available hosted RFQ solution, as well as the new licensed RFQ product, provide carriers and shippers the ability to reduce both time and cost; improve asset utilization and demand forecasting for carriers; ensure carrier compliance and have access to up-to-the-minute pricing information, as well as contingency planning information in case of a natural disaster or an employee strike.
