DP World has partnered with the newly formed Gemini Cooperation—a collaboration between Maersk A/S and Hapag-Lloyd AG—to enhance cargo operations across Canada.
Starting in February, DP World will introduce new container services at its terminals in Vancouver, Prince Rupert and Saint John. The partnership aims to bolster trade connections between Asia, Europe and North America while increasing supply chain resilience through DP World’s Canadian terminal network.
“This partnership with Gemini Cooperation reaffirms our vision of enabling smarter trade and bolstering the resilience of global supply chains,” said Doug Smith, CEO of DP World in Canada. “By uniting the strengths of DP World’s Canadian terminal network with the innovative approach of Gemini Cooperation, we are paving the way for seamless and reliable connections between Asia, Europe and North America.”
The Gemini Cooperation will focus on achieving 90 per cent on-time vessel arrivals and offering predictable schedules to reduce cargo disruptions. Vancouver and Prince Rupert will handle key services to and from Asia, while Saint John will manage Northern European connections.
DP World’s recent investments, including two new cranes at Saint John and terminal expansions in Vancouver, further cement Canada’s role in global trade facilitation.
