Groupe Morneau opens new Saint-Hyacinthe terminal to boost Quebec LTL network

Groupe Morneau has officially opened a new transportation terminal in Saint-Hyacinthe, saying the facility will strengthen its freight network across Quebec’s South Shore, Estrie and Centre-du-Québec regions.

The company says the location, near Highway 20, is expected to improve efficiency and reduce transit times by up to 24 hours on shipments between Ontario and Centre-du-Québec.

“This project marks an important step in better serving our customers and strengthening our network. Saint-Hyacinthe allows us to be closer to the market, more efficient, and better positioned in a context of industry acquisitions and consolidation,” said Simon Bourque, chief operating officer at Morneau GEO.

Groupe Morneau says the terminal represents a strategic addition to its existing network, complementing its Anjou facility, which connects operations across Quebec, Ontario and Labrador.

The company says the new site will create jobs in the region, including positions for drivers, material handlers, supervisors and dispatchers.

“The opening of the Saint-Hyacinthe terminal marks a key step in building an agile, integrated and sustainable network,” said David Morneau, co-president of Groupe Morneau.
