TEN (Transportation Equipment Network) is adding more than 3,000 new dry van trailers to its North American fleet as freight demand increases ahead of the holiday shipping season.
The company said the addition will bring its fleet to approximately 85,000 trailers. The new 2027-model units, equipped with telematics and trailer sensor technology, will be available for rental and lease in Canada and the United States beginning in the fourth quarter.
According to the company, the expansion comes as freight capacity tightens amid stronger demand and earlier inventory movements by retailers. TEN cited industry data showing trailer orders nearly doubled year-over-year in July, while freight volumes typically associated with late-fall peak season are already moving through distribution networks.
“Every fleet manager knows how hard it is normally to find trailers in the fourth quarter, and we expect this holiday season to be one of the most intense we’ve seen in the last few years,” said Ari Silkey, chief operating officer of TEN.
The company said the trailers will be offered on both short-term rental and long-term lease agreements. TEN provides dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, chassis and storage trailer equipment across North America.
