Radiant Logistics Inc. has acquired the Dallas operations of Whitacre Logistics Services LLC through its wholly owned subsidiary, Radiant Road & Rail Inc., strengthening the company’s intermodal and over-the-road brokerage business.
The acquired operation serves customers in sectors including building materials, industrial manufacturing and packaging. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, though the company said a portion of the purchase price will be tied to the future performance of the business.
Under the deal, the Dallas operation will continue to be led by Jeff Vielhaber, who will also take responsibility for agent network development at Radiant Road & Rail.
“Dallas represented an exciting expansion opportunity for us, and much of that operation is intermodal in nature, a space where Radiant has deep expertise,” said Gary Whitacre, owner of Whitacre Logistics.
Bohn Crain, founder and CEO of Radiant Logistics, said the acquisition supports the company’s efforts to expand its brokerage network and service offering.
“We are keen to accelerate the growth of our bi-modal brokerage platform and this transaction represents a tremendous opportunity to support the acquired account base with our robust technology platform and an expanded service offering,” Crain said.
Radiant Logistics provides freight forwarding, truck brokerage, rail brokerage, customs brokerage, warehousing and other logistics services through a network of company-owned and agent-operated locations across North America.
