Fastfrate Group has fully acquired Maritime fleet operator Jardine Transport Group from SeaFort Capital Inc., adding more than 200 carriers to its operations.
This brings specialized flatbed and dry-van services to Fastfrate’s growing fleet. Included in the acquisition are Jardine Transport, R.E.M. Transport, Gil Trucking, Quality Transportation and K&T Transport.
Ron Tepper, Fastfrate group executive chairman, said the deal prepares Fastfrate to grow from anticipated infrastructure investments and reduced interprovincial trade obstacles.
“We believe these initiatives will create a more connected, competitive Canadian economy, and Fastfrate Group will be well positioned to help businesses move goods more efficiently from coast to coast while supporting the next generation of economic growth,” he said.
The transaction expanded Fastfrate truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), warehousing and distribution capacity. Jardine will maintain its existing operating brands and leadership team while integrating into Fastfrate’s supply chain network.
Dion Cull, president of Jardine Transport Group, said this acquisition marks a major milestone for the business.
“Throughout our 50-year history, we’ve built our business on strong customer relationships, dependable service and the dedication of our people. Those values are shared by Fastfrate Group, making this a natural fit,” he said
Similarly, Manny Calandrino, CEO of Fastfrate Group, said, “Jardine Transport Group’s strong regional presence, extensive transportation capabilities, and customer-focused logistics solutions complement Fastfrate Group’s existing portfolio of companies and further strengthens our ability to deliver seamless, end-to-end transportation and supply chain solutions for customers across Canada and North America”
