AGG, CentrePort and DP World sign trade corridor agreement

Arctic Gateway Group, CentrePort Canada and DP World Canada have signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue trade growth opportunities linking the Port of Churchill, the Hudson Bay Railway, CentrePort Canada and DP World’s global logistics network.

The agreement will explore opportunities in port operations, logistics services and the development of an integrated transportation corridor connecting northern, inland and international trade infrastructure.

The partners said the initiative is intended to strengthen supply chain resilience and create additional transportation options for Canadian exporters. The agreement also reflects growing interest in Manitoba’s trade and transportation assets, including the Port of Churchill and CentrePort Canada’s inland logistics hub.

According to the organizations, CentrePort has attracted approximately $1.5 billion in private investment and is home to more than 1,000 companies, while the Port of Churchill is shipping its most diverse mix of commodities to date, including grain, potash, critical minerals and northern supply cargo.

DP World said the partnership could help connect the Churchill corridor with its global logistics network and create new trade options linking Canada, Europe and Asia.
