Maritime-Ontario opens second Brampton, Ontario cross-dock facility

BRAMPTON, Ontario — Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines limited, has opened a second cross-dock distribution centre on Goreway Drive in Brampton, Ontario to supplement its distribution centre on Maritime Ontario Boulevard, also in Brampton.

Situated on 30.12 acres, the Crossroads Facility is 359,341 square feet  (sqf) comprising 193,875 sqf dry, 155,833 sqf refrigerated and 9,633 sqf office space with 175 truck-level shipping doors, two drive-in bays, and secure yard parking for more than 300 trailers and/or intermodal containers.

The site is fully paved, fenced, and lighted and will be equipped with manned security gate control, card reader access and CCTV camera surveillance throughout the premises.

The Crossroads Facility will be operated in conjunction with M-O’s Brampton head office and cross-dock facility located less than three kilometres away. Both facilities are in close proximity to Canadian National and Canadian Pacific intermodal terminals and major GTA 400 series highways.

The refrigerated cross-dock portion of the facility will be HACCP Food Safety Certified and will allow M-O to maintain cold-chain integrity for fresh, frozen and ambient food products throughout transit.

Established in 1962, M-O is a fully integrated transportation company providing multi-modal services throughout Canada. Services include less-than-truck-load, truck-load and dedicated services for both dry and refrigerated cargo.
