SAUGET, ILLINOIS—Contegra Construction, Inc. has completed a new $23.5 million ground distribution center at Sauget Business Park in Sauget, Illinois for FedEx Corp.
Built on a 32-acre site, the 181,000-square-foot automated sortation facility is operated by FedEx Ground, which focuses on the shipping of small packages for households and businesses. The facility, which employs approximately 175 full- and part-time workers, can process 10,000 packages per hour.
Established in 1991 and situated off Interstate 255, the 700-acre Sauget Business Park is home to multiple distribution, warehouse and light manufacturing companies.
Founded in 2003, Contegra Construction is a design/build and construction management firm with offices in Edwardsville, Ill. and St. Louis, Mo. It operates in the institutional, industrial, health care, municipal water and wastewater, retail and office markets.
