The Stevens Company has expanded its Manitoba operations with the opening of a new 44,000-square-foot distribution facility in Winnipeg that features Manitoba’s first AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system in a healthcare distribution operation.
The company said the facility replaces its previous 33,000-square-foot location and includes 42,000 square feet of warehouse space and 2,000 square feet of office space. The AutoStore system occupies 1,600 square feet and is designed to improve order fulfillment speed, accuracy and throughput.
According to the company, the facility became fully operational on Sept. 14 and will support growing demand for healthcare and laboratory supply distribution across Manitoba and Western Canada. The expansion also includes an enlarged fleet of delivery trucks intended to increase delivery frequency and service reliability.
