Kinetic GPO, a cooperative purchasing organization that services Canadian public sector and nonprofit organizations, has entered into a three-year contract with Amazon Business Canada. The agreement allows Kinetic GPO’s members across Canada access to shipping on hundreds of millions of products across categories like office, IT, janitorial, food service and professional medical supplies. Amazon Business helps public entities allocate more of their spending to small, diverse and local sellers.
Warehouse robotics provider Exotec has received US$335 million in Series D funding at a $2B valuation. The Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management led the round with follow-on investments from 83North and Dell Technologies Capital. Exotec will use the funds to launch large-scale deployments in North America, Europe, and Asia for global brands. The company also plans to hire 500 new R&D engineers by 2025.
FourKites has acquired European supply chain visibility provider NIC GmbH (NIC-place). The combined over-the-road, rail and ocean carrier networks of FourKites and NIC-place will create the largest multimodal carrier network in Europe.
Bastian Solutions will begin integrating products from Caja Robotics in the USA. Caja has two robots: a lift robot and a cart robot, that move bins between workstations and the inventory, to optimize inventory management.
CEVA Logistics has won a five-year contract with About You, one of Europe’s fastest-growing fashion sellers. CEVA will manage a new 40,000-square-metre fulfillment operation in Wroclaw-Magnice, Poland. Approximately 1,000 employees are currently being recruited and trained to support the warehouse’s 24-hour operations.
