Mullen Group Ltd. has changed the name of its newly acquired U.S. 3PL business. QuadExpress will now be known as HAUListic LLC. Mullen Group provides a wide range of service offerings including less-than-truckload, truckload, warehousing, logistics, transload, oversized and specialized hauling transportation.

ATS Automation Tooling Systems

ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. has acquired NCC Automated Systems, Inc. (NCC), a provider of engineered to order sanitary automation solutions and stand-alone precision conveyance equipment for US$40 million (C$50 million), subject to customary post-closing adjustments. ATS has funded the acquisition by drawing on its revolving credit facility. Founded in 1986 and based in Souderton, Pennsylvania, NCC, an employee-owned company, provides turnkey automation solutions under the NCC and Nutra-Pack brands and manufactures high precision pallet handling and sanitary conveyance products under the Glide-Line and SideDrive brands, serving customers in the food and packaging, ophthalmic, assembly automation and nutraceutical markets.

On October 1 this year Gebrüder Weiss will acquire Spedition Lode GmbH, based in Bavaria, Germany. Following the 100 percent takeover of the family-owned specialists in land transport and warehouse logistics, its 60 employees will be joining the ranks of Gebrüder Weiss. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Lode’s operations focus on land transport, distribution and warehouse logistics, and special services. Under the guidance of its previous co-owner Rüdiger Lode, the new subsidiary will initially trade under the name GW Lode GmbH.

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has acquired Rose Transportation an intermodal transportation services company serving rail and port facilities in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Established in 1984, Rose Transportation is headquartered close to Pittsburgh and has an experienced and safety-minded team led by president Dennis Casarcia, and general manager Ken Joy. The company’s name will be Rose IntermodaLogistics going forward.
