At its recent annual conference in Toronto, IE Canada issued its inaugural CATIE Awards, which celebrateexcellence in Canada’s trade community.

Zack Vojvodic, who manages Customs and traffic for Mercedes Benz Canada Inc, won the Best Practices in Trade Processes Award for, among other things, reducing import costs and improving efficiency without compromising Customs compliance.

Carol West, president of the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers, won the Trade Leadership Award for her role providing leadership and innovation in policy and international trade.

The Greening of the Supply Chain Award went to Lakeside Logistics for its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint through its Vision Green program.

Finally, the IE Canada Beth Travis Memorial ‘Member of the Year’ Award went to Carol Buckton, senior director of trade logistics at Siemens Canada. Buckton is a member of IE Canada’s board of directors and co-chairs its Exports Committee, among other work with the association.

Ontario-based logistics personnel and services provider Huron Services Group—which was purchased by CPC Logistics in 2008—has celebrated its 40th anniversary.
