TORONTO: CITT has announced their 2011 Academic Award winners. Eight CITT-certified professionals and one undergraduate will be recognized for scholastic excellence. This year, two of the awards had multiple winners. The Charles D. Edsforth Memorial Award and the Robert A. Hains Award were both earned by two students.
The 2011 award winners are:
- Trevor Colbeck, CITT, Colbeck & Clarke Inc in Mississauga, Ontario earned the James T. Mackenzie Memorial Award, CITT’s most prestigious academic honour. It is given to the student with the highest academic standing in the graduating class and is presented by CITT;
- Flavio Menegazzo of Mississauga earned the Charles Laferle Memorial Award, presented by the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association, for achieving the highest combined mark for transportation systems and logistics processes;
- Brian Pinter, CITT, Suncor (Calgary, AB) earned the Thomas J. McTague Memorial Award presented by the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association for the highest academic standing in integrated logistics;
- Barry Hnatchuk, CITT, Manitoulin Logistics (Calgary, AB) earned the J. Stuart Robertson Memorial Award presented by the Canadian Transportation Education Foundation for the highest academic standing in transportation law;
- Julie Begley, CITT, Bunge Canada (Oakville, ON) and Karen Singh, CITT, LG Electronics Canada Inc (Mississauga, ON) shared the Charles D. Edsforth Memorial Award presented by the Canadian Transportation Education Foundation for achieving the highest academic standing in transportation economics;
- Helen Song, CITT, Expeditors Canada Inc (Mississauga, ON) and Kausalya Sridhar, CITT, (Mississauga, ON) shared the Robert A. Hains Award presented by the Canadian Transportation Education Foundation for achieving the highest academic standing in logistics decision modelling;
- Jane Bridges, CITT, Monarch Industries (Winnipeg, MB) earned the Unique Personnel Human Resources Award presented by the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada for achieving the highest academic standing in the organizational behaviour business knowledge course.
The winners will be honoured at CITT’s Annual Awards Dinner on October 28 at Reposition 2011 in Montreal.
