Landmark Global opens border facility

BUFFALO, New York: A Californian company has opened a new facility in Buffalo, with the intention of making it easier to deliver to Canada.

Santa Barbara-based Landmark Global’s new facility is designed to handle cross-dock, parcel processing and returns logistics for US companies shipping to Canadian customers.

As reported previously, the company signed a deal earlier this year with Texas-based shipping company Newgistics Inc which sees Landmark Global (acting in partnership with Canada Post,) serving as the brokerage and delivery service for parcels being sent to Canada by Newgistics’ customers. Landmark Global receives the packages from Newgistics, handles the customs and duties requirements, then transfers the parcels to Canada post or other Canadian-based courier companies over night.

Landmark Global’s other services include door-to-door tracking, hosted checkouts and other e-commerce applications and reverse logistics management.

In addition to the new Buffalo location, Landmark Global has facilities in Windsor, Toronto, California, Washington, Utah, and Michigan. It also has two Canadian locations in Vancouver and Calgary devoted solely to returns processing.
