TORONTO: The CITT’s newest area council—Toronto Area Council West (TAC West)—has elected its new executive council for 2011.
The council’s new executive for 2011 was elected by acclamation on February 15 and includes:
- chair: Ray Krizman, CITT, North American logistics manager, Vicwest Incorporated;
- vice-chair: Camille Mackintosh, CITT, Royal Canin;
- secretary/treasurer: Todd Strickler, CITT, manager logistics, Sanimax; and
- events co-ordinator: Rick Bailey, sales manager, Rosedale Group.
TAC West is a newly formed CITT regional council with the core centre being the Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge corridor,” said new Chair Ray Krizman. “A significant number of CITT members live or work in this area, so the establishment of a council to represent their specific needs was required.”
TAC West will work to support the overall CITT business plan, and more specifically to promote the CITT brand in Western and South Western Ontario.
The establishment of a Western Ontario arm had been a work-in-progress for a while, said longtime Chair of the Toronto Area Council Duane Chiasson, CITT.
“There are over 1,000 members in Ontario who hold the CITT designation and many more students,” said Chiasson. “Due to location, many do not have access to councils and the networking and career development opportunities they provide. The TAC West will certainly increase the ROI of the designation for members in Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding areas.”
