LONG SAULT, Ontario—Long Sault, a small village in the township of South Stormont located near Cornwall, Ontario, is the new home to UAP Inc’s logistics centre.
Based in Montreal, Quebec, UAP distributes and manufactures automotive parts for passenger and heavy vehicles and sells to retail and automotive trade customers under the NAPA brand. It’s the Canadian subsidiary of Atlanta, Georgia-based Genuine Parts Company.
The company’s new 1,858sqm (20,000sqf) distribution centre will stock more than 30,000 parts including including chemicals, accessories, hardware, tools and equipment, as well as paint and body parts.
“This new facility is a key component of a process aiming at improving our distribution operations in order to better serve our customers across the country,” said Robert Hattem, UAP president and CEO.
“There will be more space to manage our tool, equipment and non-application product inventory and ensure rapid service to all of our distribution centres. We will also be able to broaden the range and number of available products and increase our inventory level.”
The logistics centre, which will employ 40 people, officially opens on September 9.
