The project is designed to replace the existing Champlain Bridge and will connect the Island of Montreal to the South Shore.

The full project has six major components. Besides construction of the new bridge and demolition of the old one, Autoroute 10 will be aligned with the bridge and Autoroute 15 will be reconstructed and widened. Work will also be done on Nuns’ Island, including the construction of a new Nuns’ Island Bridge.
