Cornwall: Target will be building a new distribution centre in Cornwall’s business park on a 169-acre parcel of land. The city sold the land to Target earlier this year, and initial site preparation work has begun.
“This is great news for Cornwall as it further solidifies our position as an important logisitics hub in Central Canada,” said Mayor Bob Kilger. “We are very pleased to work with Target on this significant investment.”
The city is currently extending the existing Industrial Park Road, as well as the water and sewer network in the business park to accommodate this and future developments. The Target property will be situated on the north side of the new road.
Company spokesperson Molly Snyder confirmed today that the 1.3-million-sqft distribution centre will service Target stores that are expected to open in Canada starting in 2013.
