VANCOUVER: Versacold International Corp has sold all its non-Canadian assets and operations to Americold Realty Trust. The sale includes 54 facilities in the US, nine in Australia, another nine in New Zealand and two in Argentina.
Versacold said the sale wouldn’t affect its Canadian customers. Both Versacold and the Atlanta, Ga-based Americold are owned by Yucaipa Companies, a Los Angeles investment firm.
The two companies operate independently, with separate boards.
“We are excited to refocus on our Canadian roots and the bright future that lies before us,” said Versacold CEO, Joel Smith. “Versacold will continue to provide top service and look for new opportunities to grow our business and that of our customers.”
Versacold is one of Canada’s largest refrigerated warehousing and logistics companies with 41 sites, 120 million cubic feet of storage capacity and a comprehensive transportation network.
