Halifax Port Authority
The board of directors of the Halifax Port Authority announce that Fulvio Fracassi, LLM will succeed Captain Allan Gray as president and chief executive officer of the Halifax Port Authority, effective Sept. 26.
Fracassi brings a wealth of marine industry experience to the Port of Halifax, having served in senior executive roles at Transport Canada – Transports Canada and Emploi et Développement social Canada (EDSC) / Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and as the chief executive officer of the Administration de pilotage des Laurentides / Laurentian Pilotage Authority in Montréal, Qué.
“It is an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to join the Halifax Port Authority,” Fracassi said. “I look forward to leading the skilled team at the Port, and working together with Port partners, stakeholders and community to advance Halifax as a strategic, national trade and transportation hub. Halifax connects communities across North America with more than 150 countries around the world and is a centre for Port innovation. I am excited to get started and to contribute to the Port’s success moving forward.”
LOGISTEC
LOGISTEC, a North American marine and environmental services provider, announced the appointment of Patrick Burgoyne as chief strategy officer. Burgoyne brings his global perspective and in-depth logistics knowledge to LOGISTEC and will further accelerate the company’s growth of marine services throughout North America and internationally.
“As a pivotal driver of LOGISTEC’s strategic growth plan, Patrick will be working closely with the executive team to lead important initiatives that will add value to the company,” said Sean Pierce, CEO of LOGISTEC. “Patrick’s extensive marine industry experience in port infrastructure, container shipping and M&A, combined with his proven track record in business enhancements will serve to modernize processes and gain efficiencies across the network.”
LOGISTEC Maritimes Services ULC is based in Montréal and provides specialized services to the marine community and industrial companies in the areas of bulk, break-bulk and container cargo handling in 60 ports and 89 terminals located in North America.
Groupe Touchette
Groupe Touchette, a Canadian-owned tire distributor, announced the appointment of Francis Lalonde as vice-president, supply chain. With extensive experience in operations management, distribution, procurement and transportation, Lalonde brings a wealth of expertise that will support Groupe Touchette’s supply chain development goals and contribute to the company’s ongoing growth.
Over the past two decades, Lalonde has held several senior management positions, including regional vice-president of operations for Quebec and Atlantic Canada at Sysco Canada, vice-president of transportation at Wal-Mart Canada and chief commercial officer at KNNX. A native of Quebec, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He has also earned an executive certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT Sloan School of Management, as well as a certificate in Business Excellence from the University of California, Berkeley.
