Penske Logistics Mexico has named Pedro Sanchez as its sales director. Based in Saltillo, Mexico, Sanchez is responsible for strategic business development that extends into new verticals. He joins Penske from international supply chain provider UTi Worldwide where he was director of client solutions and business development manager. For FedEx, he was a global account manager in the LATAM Automotive Group and a cross border account manager along the US-Mexico border.

José Canales in now senior vice-president Latin America (LATAM) with Swissport International (Swissport). Canales is reporting to Juan José Andres Alvéz, executive vice-president Europe, Africa & Latin America.In his new position he will be responsible for all ground handling and cargo handling activities of Swissport in LATAM. He has 18 years of international experience working in the transportation and logistics industry and is joining Swissport from Panalpina, where he held various senior management positions.

Doug Riddell is Trailer Wizards’ new rentals sales leasing representative for their Calgary team. Based out of the Calgary office, Riddell will be responsible for exploring and expanding business with existing accounts; developing new business; increasing utilization; and promoting Trailer Wizards’ services. He brings over 15 years in the transportation industry—seven years with tractors and trucks and eight years with trailers.

Seegrid, maker of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), hired Peter Bak as its new European representative. With more than 20 years of experience in customer-oriented roles in technology intensive companies within market and business development, sales and account management, customer projects, and sensor and measurement technology, Bak is an expert in the European market. Bak will report to Michael Hasco, Seegrid’s chief growth officer.

Amy Miles and James Squires have been elected directors of Norfolk Southern Corporation. Miles, 47, of Knoxville, has served as chief executive officer and a director of the largest movie theater company in the US, Regal Entertainment Group Inc, since 2009. Before that, she served as executive vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer. Miles joined Regal Cinemas Inc as senior vice president finance in 1999, after working with Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC. Squires, 52, was named Norfolk Southern president in 2013, responsible for the corporation’s administration, finance, law and corporate relations, and planning and information technology divisions. Prior to that, he served as Norfolk Southern’s executive vice president administration, executive vice president finance and chief financial officer, senior vice president law, vice president law, and in various law department staff positions beginning in
1992.
