Rick Blasgen, president and CEO of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, has been appointed to serve on the US Department of Commerce’s Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness.
Dublin, Ohio-based Pacer International Inc, has a new CEO. Paul Svindland joined the logistics service provider after co-leading the global transportation and logistics practice at AlixPartners LLP.
Peter Jessiman has been appointed to the board of directors of Webgistix Corp, a Winnipeg, Manitoba-based e-commerce order fulfillment operation. Jessiman is president of Wescan Capital Inc, a holding company with interests in transportation, logistics, real estate and financial investments.
Peter Dragich is now vice-president of integrated supply chain and logistics for Latrobe, Pennsylvania-based Kennametal Inc. He will lead the company’s global manufacturing operations, distribution centres and reconditioning facilities, and will be responsible for supply chain management, supplier sourcing, advanced manufacturing engineering, and environment, health and safety. Kennametal produces wear-resistant alloys and coatings.
Martin Schmitt has been named to Lufthansa Cargo’s executive board and as labour director at Lufthansa Cargo. He will begin his duties on January 1,2013. Schmitt is currently manager and head of the Lufthansa Corporate personal policy division.
Gavin Murphy has been named vice-president and general manager of Entercoms Inc’s newly created European division. He will be based in Ireland and will be responsible for business development, serving current clients and research and development to drive expansion for the Dallas, Texas-based aftermarket supply chain services company.
