Ontario has appointed David Corbett as the new chair of the province’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT). Corbett has extensive experience practicing in the area of labour, employment and workers’ compensation law. For the past 35 years, he has served in the law firm of Fasken Martineau in Toronto, most recently as senior partner. He possesses a keen understanding of the administrative justice system, having appeared as counsel before various boards and tribunals. As chair, Corbett will work to ensure that the tribunal delivers on its commitment to timely and superior quality service. The WSIAT is a provincial agency that hears appeals from final decisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) on entitlements to benefits, health care and vocational rehabilitation. The WSIAT is an arm’s-length agency of the Ministry of Labour, and is independent of the WSIB.

Cesar Pucci, director, corporate quality, Eaton Corporation, has been appointed to the AIAG (Automotive Industry Action group) board of directors. More than 20 executives from the automotive and transportation OEM and supplier community currently serve on the AIAG board, representing a cross-section of its member companies. Pucci, who has been a quality professional his entire career — including many years’ work for Eaton in Brazil and companies like Compaq Computer Brazil, IBM Brazil, Allied Automotive – Bendix of Brazil Division, and others — has particular knowledge in developing, implementing, and improving Quality Management Systems. He also has experience as an Eaton Business Excellence examiner and Operational Excellence assessor for Eaton’s internal processes.

Winnebago Industries, Inc has appointed Chris West vice-president of operations, effective September 26, 2016. West will report directly to president and CEO Michael Happe and have responsibility for the entire manufacturing, supply chain and quality value streams across the Winnebago-branded enterprise, which includes support to both the motorhome and towable businesses. West previously was vice-president of global supply chain for Joy Global, a worldwide mining equipment manufacturer. West has also been director of manufacturing for AGCO Corporation, an agricultural equipment manufacturer and director of operations for the Nordam Group, a manufacturer of aircraft interiors. West has a Masters of Business Administration from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
