Who’s on the move this week: March 2, 2015
CP‘s executive vice-president and CFO Bart Demosky has decided to leave the company. He will stay on with CP until May 31, 2015 to ensure a smooth transition as the search for a replacement begins.
Train Trailer has appointed Nick Pereira as District Account Manager for Quebec. Pereira has an extensive background in the leasing industry with both auto and semi-trailer experience. A Montreal native, he is fluent in speaking and writing in three languages; French, Portuguese and English. Pereira attended Concordia University in Business Management.

Dirk Schmitt is the new CEO, Cargo Services Germany & Austria, for Swissport International. He is responsible for Swissport Cargo Services (SCS) Germany, a successful, profitable operating unit employing approximately 400 staff. The task will include running Swissport’s cargo operations at nine airports as well as several subcontracted European stations. Schmitt takes over from Peter Kohl, who will move to new responsibilities within Swissport. Schmitt will be based at Frankfurt Airport’s Cargo City South in Germany. Previously Schmitt spent 10 years in the aviation and air cargo industry and has held various senior management positions in Europe, including one at Fraport in Frankfurt. He joins Swissport from Luxair CARGO.
Aaron Thompson is now EVP of Trucking Bay & Bay. Thompson will oversee all departments related to trucking including Safety, Recruiting, Operations, Maintenance, Orientation, Training and Fuel Procurement. He will report directly to the President and CEO, Sam Anderson. After receiving a BA in political science from Truman State University in Missouri, Thompson went to work as an operations manager for a large truck leasing company in Kansas City while working on his MBA. In the 15+ years since then he has gained valuable experience running retail truck dealerships, and Detroit Diesel engine distributors. Thompson’s experience in the truckload space includes serving as VP of Operations for a mid-sized carrier in Kansas City, and VP of Maintenance Operations for a large top 100 carrier in Minnesota. His most recent leadership role has been with a Fortune 100 energy company in Minnesota.
