Polaris Transportation appointed Lesley Killingsworth to the newly created position of director of traffic and pricing. Killingsworth will be based out of the San Francisco/Sacramento area of California and will be responsible for Polaris’s Canadian and USA traffic and pricing requirements. She has an extensive background within the US transportation industry. Her most recent position was in a senior traffic and pricing capacity with a large California based carrier, Mountain Valley Express. She reports directly to Dave Bush, VP of business processes.
Radiant Logistics, Inc, a third party logistics and multimodal transportation services company, appointed Joe Bento as senior vice-president of operations with oversight of field sales and operations of the company’s freight forwarding network. Bento will report to Dan Stegemoller who continues as the COO of the company’s freight forwarding operations. Bento is a seasoned industry veteran with over 20 years of progressive sales and marketing experience, including leading strategic sales and operational teams in the logistics industry at CEVA/Eagle and SEKO.
The Smithers Group announced today the appointment of Nathaniel “Nat” Leonard as president for Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira. Leonard will report to Smithers Group president and CEO, Michael Hochschwender. Leonard succeeds long-time Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira president Jim Dowey, who is retiring after eight years with the company. Previously, Leonard was vice-president, North America for the Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira business groups. Before joining the Smithers team, Leonard served in leadership roles at such industry and global leaders
as BFGoodrich, Progressive Insurance, Goodyear and Republic Steel. Assuming the role of vice-president, North America for Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira is former vice president, Europe, James Popio. Popio is a 15-year Smithers veteran with previous experience at Bridgestone/Firestone and Goodyear. Sam Sheppard Fidler, a 20-year member of the Pira team in the UK, will take on the role of vice-president, Europe.
