Ed Nieroda has joined Reimer Associates as vice-president mergers and acquisitions. Ed brings over 30 years of transportation experience as a senior level financial executive. After earning his CA designation, Nieroda joined Price Waterhouse where he worked with a variety of clients. In 1990 he joined Reimer Express Lines, now operating as YRC Reimer, where he was vice-president and controller until 2007. He then joined the TransX Group of Companies where his role was executive vice-president until 2014. His career of financial experience combined with his transportation industry knowledge bring a unique and strong presence to the merger and acquisition activities at Reimer Associates.

Gillian Kirk of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, has joined the board of directors of Ridley Terminals Inc for a term of four years. Kirk has been industry and community relationship liaison for Avia Employment Services, a division of Back in Motion Rehab Inc. since 2012. She is currently vice-chair of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, she participates on the FortisBC Energy Efficiency and Conservation Group, and she is a member of the Tri-Cities Homelessness and Housing Task Group.

Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico, has assumed his duties as Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors for a one-year term, effective immediately. Conesa is the first Mexican to hold this position. He succeeds Calin Rovinescu, CEO of Air Canada, whose one-year term expired at the conclusion of the Association’s 71st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit in Miami, Florida. Rovinescu will continue to serve on the Board of Governors and the Chair Committee. Conesa has led Aeromexico, Mexico’s largest airline, since 2005 after a career spanning several key, finance-related posts in the Mexican public administration. Conesa has served as a member of the IATA Board of Governors since 2008. Willie Walsh, CEO of International Airlines Group, will serve as Chairman of the Board of Governors from June 2016, following Conesa’s term.
