Allan Haggard, and Dennis Jonsson, both from Port Alberni, British Columbia, have been appointed to the board of directors of the Port Alberni Port Authority for terms of two years. Haggard is a building technologist who has owned a civil construction management company specializing in major waterfront development and improvement projects for over 30 years. He has been involved as a contractor and/or construction manager in several marine projects in Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Port Moody, Delta, among other British Columbia cities. Jonsson owned a General Motors (GM) dealership for 27 years. He also served as a director of the GM BC Marketing Advisory Board and the GM Goodwrench Service Marketing Advisory Board.
Bill Mathewson has been named regional vice-president – Western operations of Consolidated Fastfrate Inc, effective July 6, 2015. Mathewson has broad experience in the transportation and logistics industry. Most recently, he held the position of regional vice-president – Western Canada for Brinks Canada. His background includes extensive operations experience with DHL and United Parcel Service. Mathewson has earned his P.Log designation.
Nick CaragherMenlo Logistics has promoted Nick Caragher to senior director of transportation strategy and services. Caragher will lead Menlo’s overall strategy for transportation management solutions and services, focused on designing and managing the company’s overall approach to transportation solutions. Caragher originally came to Menlo in 2001, joining the company as a logistics engineer. Since then, he has demonstrated his expertise through proven results in change management, Lean principles, global transportation and management of large customer solutions. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management.
Katherine BoesenKatherine Boesen is senior vice-president global commercial and key account management, ground handling for Swissport International. She will directly report to Juan-José Andrès Alvez, Eexecutive vice-president ground handling, Europe South, UK, Africa, LATAM & Global Commercial. Boesen will be responsible for implementing Swissport’s global commercial strategy, coordinating commercial activities between the different business divisions and developing global key accounts. She is an experienced commercial professional with more than 20 years in positions across sales and commercial solutions in the logistics, financial services and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Swissport she held the position of Chief Commercial Officer for the Eastern European and Asia Pacific region at DAMCO (the Logistics Division of Maersk Group).
